Hugo Diaz
BIOGRAPHY:
French saxophonist based in Strasbourg, Hugo stands out for his versatility and his instrumental practice in different aesthetics.
Classically trained and teaching saxophone, jazz and improvisation, his artistic project revolves around his compositions and draws on his many influences.
Trained at the Conservatory of Montbéliard with Jean-Marc Larché, he continued his apprenticeship at the CRR of Versailles in Vincent David’s class where he will obtain an improvement prize.
He then joined the Academy of Music of Strasbourg in classical and jazz saxophone and worked with Philippe Geiss and Michael Alizon.
His improvement and his parallel practice of these different aesthetics in the artistic and educational fields will allow him to develop a singular musical personality.
Apart from his personal artistic projects, Hugo had the opportunity to perform in various musical contexts in classical as in jazz : Opera, national du Rhin, Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, Saxophone Quartet, Big band, jazz quintet...
