MARINA NOTARO 

(ITALIA)

She began to study saxophone at a very early age playing in the woodwind ensemble “G.Verdi” of S. Agata Militello (ME, Italy). She continued her studies at Conservatory “V.Bellini” of Palermo and at Conservatory “G.Verdi” of  Milan  under the guidance of M° Gaetano Costa and M° Daniele Comoglio. 

 

She attended several specialization courses  with internationally acclaimed masters like:  Claude Delangle, Jean-Marie Londeix, Vincent David, Mario Marzi, Jean-Yves Fourmeau, Arno Bornkamp, Christian Wirth, Gerard McCrystal, Lars Mlekusch, Fabrizio Mancuso, Pascal Bonnet, Antonio Felipe Belijar..

 

She performs extensively as a soloist and in several other musical settings like: symphonic orchestras,  quartets, woodwind ensembles, saxophone ensembles, big bands etc.

   

She performed in important festivals like “Festival del Mito”, “Milano Classica”, “Festival degli Orti”,  “Festival  del Mediterraneo”  in Bastia (Corsica) etc..

 

She also collaborated with associations and institutions like Filarmonica della Scala, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Orchestra Vittorio Emanuele di Messina, Associazione Umanitaria, Casa Verdi, Museo Diocesano, Museo del Risorgimento, Pinacoteca di Brera, Conservatory “G.Verdi” Milano, Auditorium LaVerdi di Milano, Castello Sforzesco, Museo Leonardo da Vinci, Palazzo Reale di Milano, MUDEC, Teatro Litta, Auditorium Gaber, Teatro degli Arcimboldi, LAC di Lugano (Switzerland) etc..

 

 

She has collaborated with “Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala” during a concert with Daniele Gatti at “Teatro Degli Arcimboldi”. 

 

Very important is the recent collaboration with orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” where she played a soloist “Glazunov Concerto” after having won the audition.

 

Since 2013 she is part of “Orchestra dei Popoli Vittorio Baldoni” as musician and as teacher, sponsored by the association “Fondazione Casa dello Spirito e delle Arti” (founded by Arnoldo Mondadori and Marisa Baldoni), which debuted in April 2013 with internationally acclaimed artists like Franco Battiato and Franco Cerri.

 

With the contemporary music project “In_Search” (saxophones and electronics by Marina Notaro & t.e.s.o. music) she won different scholarships to perform in European places in 2017. 

 

In duo with Roberto Franca they perform the original neoclassical music for saxophone and piano also as contemporary music.

 

She’s graduating in master of “Music Arts Pedagogy” in the “Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana” in Lugano, with the guidance of M° Raphael Camenish and Frank Schussler.
